The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the World Bank (WB) launched the Alliance for Primary Health Care in the Americas, a collaborative effort aimed at increasing investment, fostering innovation, and implementing policies to transform health systems across the region, with a focus on primary health care (PHC).
Dr. Wolfgang Munar, a keynote speaker, discussed monitoring and evaluation for Strengthening PHC and health systems and highlighted the critical role of data and evidence in driving effective health system transformation. During the event, reflections were shared on the importance of evaluating transformative, whole-system change—an essential approach for the Alliance to advance the PHC agenda and ensure continuous learning and adaptation.
