Goals of the Center
- Increase the number of collaborations with community-based organizations and institutions of higher education committed to improving health outcomes among Caribbean and Latin American communities.
- Provide training and other capacity building opportunities for students and faculty at GW and for students, scientists, and organizations serving Caribbean and Latin American communities.
- Engage with partners and organizations in the Caribbean and Latin American to promote ownership and sustainability.
About the Donors
Avid travelers, professor James Lebovic and Holly Gill, have visited most of the Caribbean islands and many Central and South American countries over three-plus decades of marriage. With each trip, their love for the region and its people grew steadily stronger as did their desire to help alleviate the acute levels of basic need they encountered everywhere. Taking things into their own hands—literally— they began direct aid projects in several communities that have flourished and grown over the years.

- Involucrarnos en colaboraciones y con organizaciones del Caribe y Latinoamérica para promover la apropiación y la sostenibilidad.
Historia de los donantes
Ávidos viajeros, el profesor James Lebovic y Holly Gill han visitado la mayoría de las islas del Caribe y muchos países de Centro y Sur América a lo largo de más de tres décadas de matrimonio. Con cada viaje, su amor por la región y su gente fue creciendo, al igual que su deseo de atender las graves necesidades básicas que encontraban en todas partes. Con sus propias manos -literalmente- iniciaron proyectos de ayuda directa en varias comunidades que han prosperado y crecido a lo largo de los años.
