Grace Murphy, BS/MPH student, presented Advancing Racial Equity in Health: Elevating Community Perspectives and Critical Issues Facing Minoritized and Vulnerable Communities: Public Health Ethics in Practice. Her work highlights the importance of centering community voices and advancing equity in health systems everywhere. From impactful presentations to dynamic networking, our students demonstrated the value of academic exchange in strengthening public health leadership and advancing equitable systems.
“The conversations happening here not only provide hope in today’s challenging public health environment,” shared Anneli Merivaara, “but also underscore the power of community to keep improving the lives of those around us.”
Throughout the event, GWSPH voices were heard in sessions addressing today’s most pressing public health challenges—from climate resilience and health equity to data innovation and community partnerships. Our students, faculty, and alumni made important contributions, representing GWSPH through poster sessions, presentations, and session moderators. The conversations and connections sparked at APHA will continue to shape our shared commitment to advancing public health.
“The speakers were so impactful and informative. I appreciate the range of topics sessions covered and the opportunity to network with experts in the public health field. Overall, today at # APHA2025 was a great experience!” reflected Lilli Silverston.
